Orlando Bloom
Born Orlando Jonathan Blanchard Bloom on the 13th January 1977 born in the posh Canterbury Kent and is related to photographer Sebastian Copeland. With ties all over the world some family living in Tasmania, Austrailia, India and Japan. Bloom’s mother was actually born in India and are all of English decent. He studied at Hamstead Fine Arts, also the National Isa Youth Theatre where he earned a scholarship to train at the British American Drama Academy.
Clearly one of the Lord of the Rings movies break out stars he has enjoyed success on many levels but he started small as many do with appearances on UK TV with Casualty and Midsomer Murders being some the more well known. He then went on to appear in Wilde alongside Stephen Fry, a film portraying the life of Oscar Wilde. After this he went to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London where he furthered his acting education.We all know Orlando as Legolas but he actually auditioned for the part of Farramir but Peter Jackson liked his soft accent so much he cast him as the afore mentioned Woodland Prince. Bloom broke a rib whilst filming falling from a Horse but he still continued to do most of the riding scenes. Bloom had a part in Black Hawk down before moving on to another hugely popular film series – Pirates of the Carribbean.
Bloom is not a totally serious guy and sent himself up in Ricky Gervais’ Extras as a Depp hating, self centered big head which is pleasant to see. His other career credits include Kingdom of Heaven, New York I Love You, one of my favorite films Troy plus many more, his most recent credit is The Three Musketeers, Orlando is set to return as Legolas later this year in Peter Jacksons – The Hobbit. Thats what we are all waiting for if you are reading this article. Orlando has won many awards including sexiest guy and acting awards of course, he’s not just a pretty face. He has dated Holloywood Hotties including Kate Bosworth but settled down with Miranda Kerr and now have a son called Flynn Christopher Blanchard Copeland Bloom, he was born on January 6th very close to Orlando’s birthday.

Some quick you might not know facts – Orlando appeared in Ali G – Inda House, he and some of the other LOTR cast members had matching tattoos, the only cast member who did not was John Rhys-Davies (Gimli) but his stunt double did. He is somewhat injury prone having broken a rib in filming, broken nose from Rugby and has also broken his leg skiing in Switzerland. Orlando is a practising Buddhist and is a keen environmentalist. Orlando is a Manchester United football fan (Nobodys Perfect).

You’ve got to love Orlando. I’m sure I read somewhere that there is a dusty family skeleton in the Bloom closet…Orlando learned, late in life, that his biological father was actually a family friend – oops. x
